Goodman's Candles and Crafts

Goodman's Candles and Crafts

I want to first and foremost Thank all of you who have read my blog from the start, it really means a lot to me. You guys know who you are, this was for you. Thank you very much.

now, with that said, I am proud to announce that we have opened the doors on our newest adventure.
Goodman's Candles And Crafts                                     or visit the link here:      GoodmanCandlesandcrafts.com

I can't tell you how thrilled we are to have this up and running. Only set back is that our product page isn't, well, isn't producting. (get it. haha).
That was not a typo, that's just my attempt at being silly, after a 7 hour segment of web building.

I chose to develop our website myself, a job I thought would be awesomely fun, However I was awesomely wrong.  Though I bet there are some that know what they are doing (and maybe they would consider building a website fun) I tell you I don't find it very fun at all. In fact, I find it rather difficult in the sense that you are now responsible for coming up with epic content that just sets you apart from the rest of the world. It's a ton of pressure, you can take that from me. Especially when you want to make sure your content will stand out, and fits your site, store, blog or whatever your building it for.  On the plus side of things it will save a lot of cash in the end, and we all know that's never a bad thing.
Either way, as the builder you feel as if it is never right. Or at least that is what ends up happening to me. Which is why my products page is incomplete. To be honest it was almost overwhelming just thinking about the amount of work. As every item that is to be sold has it's own thumbnail, description, specs, and of course a picture that needs to go with it for visuals.

So for now our product page is not up and running. However, the rest of the site is fully functional. Feel free to check it out, maybe comment and let us know what you think about our site.
Also check out my newest Blog inside Goodmancandlesandcrafts.com. There we will be a little more focused on the topic at hand, However I will still be adding local and breaking news stories as they unfold...

So in closing.. Thank you all for your time. I enjoy what I do and all those I do it for..
you guys remember to be stilllivin4now  and stay safe out there.
Until then, Uncle Jesse over and out.

How to turn Your WORDS into CASH

How to Make a blog successful

Everyone needs some extra cash. I know I never turn down extra cash being sent my way. Even if it requires a little work, I'm all in. I don't think I know the meaning of too much work. But I am sure my wife would beg to differ, As that is about all I do is work. Not only do I work in construction as an owner operator of a roofing company called CMS Contracting, My wife and I also have a home based business called Goodman Candles and CraftsGoodmancandlesandcrafts.com . Plus I have a blog that is associated with that site that I have to maintain. On top of all this I have 5 beautiful children and a beautiful wife to take care of.  So as you can imagine I am one busy person from 4:30am when my alarm goes off till what ever time I can possibly let my face hit the pillow.  In the end I feel like it is all worth it, with a little hard work anything is possible.  Which is why I wanted to share some tips. For those who are getting started, Don't give up. It's always hard at first, just know with a little hard work, Anything is possible.

Some sound advice on successful blogging
Tips for maintaining a great blog

  1.  When writing consider the Blog’s objective. Perhaps you have started a Blog as a news tool to inform visitors about what is happening in your business industry or hobby field, maybe you use it to drive traffic to a particular page or gain followers on social media. Whatever the case, stick to it, don’t be tempted to deviate and re-blog articles or topics unrelated to your cause.
  2.  Quality content is better than quantity. Providing value will make visitors return, blogging for the sake of blogging won’t provide an interesting read. Make sure you focus on one or a few topics. If your visitors start seeing post topics deviate from the interest that brought them to your site in the first place, they may start going elsewhere.
  3.  Consider your audience. Your writing style should appeal to your audience, a business website should be professional and avoid slang, a Blog about new products should avoid using technical jargon that confuses visitors. Before you publish, read over your content and ensure it is relevant to your audience.
  4.  Define a posting schedule. Giving your visitors too much to digest and too frequently will overwhelm them. Set yourself a target such as 3-4 posts a month and stick to it, ensure you give yourself enough time between posts to generate quality content next time.
  5.  Connect with visitors and other Bloggers. Linking to your Blog on social media, or vice versa, is a great way to connect with your visitors - not only will they provide feedback and discussion, but they will share content they like with their social circles. This along with links to other blogged content that you reference will also help with SEO.
  6.  Make content easy to read. Break paragraphs up into manageable chunks. Consider breaking lists of information into bullet points, create sub-headings for longer posts, and most importantly, read over and spell check before publishing.

Maintaining a blog is a great way to have original content on your website, while increasing your site's visibility and rank on search engines. This helps more than you know whether you're a daily poster, or just post once a week. Every new post helps drive that needed traffic to your site.
So grab your laptop and dig in. Get your blog started today, what's the worst that could happen?
No one reads it, well that's almost impossible, though I guess it could happen. However one would never know unless they tried...

So like I said, grab that lap top, tablet, smart phone, or desktop and get going. And remember to be stilllivin4now and stay safe
Thanks as always,
Uncle Jesse

North Carolina Man turns 10,000 into 8 million in 2 weeks

North Carolina Man turns 10 grand into 8 million

All he had to do was piggy back off another person's success. Sign up now and see how inside for free...
Well that is what you see all over the internet.. What you don't see is how this is done, Or is this even possible.
However paid or not paid there isn't a shortage of testimonials on these sites that's for sure.

I see these ads all over the place, Some say they started with 10 grand, Some say a lot less. What ever the number that is spit out, I am almost sure that it isn't the number that they started with, More like a number to grab attention, while scrolling along.

I don't doubt these individuals make the kind of money that they claim. I just feel like they depend on us to make that money. By either us buying what ever program they are selling, or by signing up with some type of affiliate offer, or worse having to do Both.

I know I have fell for it quite a few times. Even though I know better, Some how I will find my self clicking or watching a video claiming he was as broke as I just a few weeks before. But he found this course now the cash just piles in...
.

Of course they will go on and on telling you how great their system is, or how they rewrote it even better than their boss before. Meanwhile making it seem as if this internet trick, or system will be revealed for free when you sign up for a membership.

Only to find out that either the membership costs, or the program itself costs. This only happening after signing up and entering the members area of what ever site got you interested. (Don't feel bad we have all been there)

By this point your all in, and you have dug deep to get yourself going, Just to find out that your site, or program doesn't make as much as you were told.
Mainly Because you're new and haven't built up your client list, experience, or what ever else is required for that position to be successful.   Then it all clicks and you realize that the person who got you to sign up makes his money by doing exactly that. Getting you to take the bait and sign on the dotted line.

So the real job (money maker) isn't the program, or web site, or what ever you bought. It's the practice of getting people to sign up for said company.
A quick google search and you can find all companies that have affiliate programs and skip the middle man. Go straight for the gold, Build your own site, Make your own video, and send traffic by the hundreds to your own affiliate site of choice to make a decent living.

Before signing up for your next get rich scheme, think about this first. And educate yourself the best you can before taking the leap. If you are like me, Then you work far to hard for your money just to hand it out.

And that completes my rant of the day. Remember to always be stilllivin4now and stay safe.

5 Bucket list worthy things to do in North Carolina

Bucket list Items you can cross off by stopping in North Carolina.

(photo provided by www.ncanp.com)

The Top five Bucket list items from North Carolina we are sharing today on Stilllivin4now.blogspot.com are in no particular order.  I don't feel as if one deserves a rank above another. As all of the items or activities that we are sharing are equally spectacular in their own way.

What can we cross of our bucket list in North Carolina:
  1. Witness something majestic:

Great smokey mountains at sunrise (photo from allposter.ca)

With sunrises like the one in the photo above, it's no wonder that we picked western North Carolina as one of our five Bucket List Choices.

Views like these are fairly easy to come by while in Western North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Park way offers Many spots to catch a beautiful and Majestic sunrise, Nothing Needed but you and some loved ones to be here in North Carolina on any given morning.

  2. Soar through the trees like a bird:

(photo provided by www.outsideonline.com)

While we are still on the western Side of North Carolina I figured we could stop here and cross off another bucket list item. (Soaring through the trees like a bird).  When this was added, I didn't expect to be hooked to a cable. However it works and is one magical experience.
There are several businesses that offer the zip line tours, They are easy to find online and most don't require you to reserve your spot. Though I would if I were planning to be there on a holiday. Once you are there just sign in and get your equipment. Once you are strapped in and ready to zip, You then climb up to you station and zip from there.
The absolute best thing about this is the use of the lay of the land. The zip line companies do their best to make sure you never come out of the trees once you are up in them.

                    :sky valley zip line tours:

As we move on to our next item on the list, We don't have to travel very far at all. In Fact, all that is needed is to come down out of the trees.

 3. White Water Rafting:

Of course this had to be on the Bucket list. It's dangerous and fun, Both of these are attributes that I look for in adding my bucket list items.

I have always wanted to go white water rafting, ever since I was a little guy. I'm sure I am not alone in this one. As a North Carolina Native I was able to cross this one off the list early in life.

Here in North Carolina we have a few Rivers that you can try to tame, And even a man made white water area in Charlotte. On the rivers you can choose to have a guide and tackle those bigger white water rapids or go with out and do some of the smaller rapids. It's totally up to you.

However we are Junkies when it comes to adventure. So we tend to go on the more dangerous routes. While many choose to pay and be safe about their trip. We didn't quite go that route. With two vehicles we parked one at our planned pull out point, Then drove the other many miles up river as we had planned to drift down for the day and camp that night before finishing the trip the next day.
I must say, we have been on many of the paid trips as of now. And don't get me wrong they are great in many ways. But they do not compare to doing all of it your self. As long as you plan it out and inform someone of your plans. (To be safe in case something goes wrong you will have someone looking for you, if your not back in what ever time frame you planned) You can't pay for this kind of adventure, or family time. Plus the freedom you have because your not of anyone's time frame.

  4. Win a Race Drive like Dale Earnhardt

EKN Trackside: 2013 United States Rotax Max Challenge Grand Nationals ... (picture provided by ekartingnews.com)

Welcome Race Fans to Mooresville NC.  This is Race City USA.  Home of Nascar.
Traveling a few hours east from our previous location in the western hills of North Carolina, To the central part know as the Piedmont, we are now in the heart lands of racing. You won't have to look very far around these parts to find anything that has to do with racing. From the Nascar Hall of fame to Richard Petty's Racing School. It's here and Not hard to find.

The photo above is from Gopro's Track which is located off motorplex drive in Mooresville. Here for a very affordable price you can rent go-carts which are Very very fast. Some top out at 65-70 miles per hour.. Definitely isn't the fun park your used to. And that is why this place made the list. I picked this over Richard Petty's Dream just for the sheer price and Fun. Yes I wasn't going as fast as Dale Earnhardt, but I did win my race.

Of course if driving isn't your thing, Don't forget you can witness some of the greatest racing on the east coast right here. Plus all the drivers garages and museums in the area. It's a must that you come and visit the area.

This next item isn't on the list, However it deserves a plug in:
While you are here enjoying the Racing life, You should also be enjoying a little bit of family fun time as well. So instead of staying somewhere that is just a room make your stay an adventure, By checking into the Great Wolf Lodge.  It's located minutes from the speedway, Basically right across the road from our biggest Mall in the area known as Concord Mills.  However once your in the Great Wolf Lodge it is hard to leave.  Take that from experience, with its huge indoor water park, movie theater, restaurants and much much more. You just get lost in adventure here.

It's a place you never want to leave once you are inside, They make everything an awesome experience.

All these things and we are just now at number five of the list. It's amazing as there really is way more to list. I choose to list five just to keep the post smaller and maybe keep the interest of a reader, Rather than having a list of twenty items to go through.   Just know that with in these few items there are many more things to do, see, smell, taste, and hear.

With that said, Lets keep traveling east until we reach the sand. As my last item on my bucket list for North Carolina to cross off is:

 5. To touch a historic light house:

(Cape Hatteras North Carolina Picture by the mousequeen)

The outer banks and the Light houses entered my list just for the plain fact that they are so rich in history that I had to come and be a part of it.

Just imagine how many ships, Or people on those ships have seen this light on a dark stormy night, or how many ghost stories that have been made up because of the light from this house. I am almost sure there has to be a few that have developed due to this light house and/or its brothers who stand around the coast protecting those who are out at sea from running ashore.   Either way, it has secured a spot on my list along with the rest of my top five picks for North Carolina.

Be sure to check us out often as we try to add more and more. If you like please follow and comment. If you didn't like, Please comment.
Thanks as always, And remember to be stilllivin4now and stay safe.

Perfectly Made Apple Pie (Wonderful winter drink)

CarolinaCrisp
Apple Pie "Moonshine". Oh My Goodness - this looks dangerous!!!  (photo provide by pintrest)

This is what I choose to call my recipe from back in the day. I know there are many different ways to make apple pie hard cider.. However this one is my personal mixture that has been passed down through our family for generations.  There really isn't anything special about the way I make mine, except for we used to use real homemade moonshine. Which would affect the taste and strength depending on what the batch of moonshine was made from.  As I grew older living the Criminal life just wasn't as cool as it once was, So of course changes had to be made to ensure that we were legal in what we were doing.  Our newest recipe uses a 5th of Ever-clear. Something you can purchase at your local Spirits Store. (Note you can use the moonshine that is legally made, however legally made moonshine tops out at 50% abv or 100 proof, Where as Ever-clear is 180 proof or 90% abv) This makes a big differences when making this recipe. As the 100 proof moonshine just isn't quite enough Abv to do anything once mixed with the rest of the materials.

Easy as Pie
You will need the following items:
  1. 1 Gallon of apple cider
  2. 1 Gallon of apple Juice
  3. 3 large cinnamon sticks
  4. 1/2 - 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  5. 5th of ever-clear
Instructions

You need a very large pot. Something that will hold around 2 1/2 gallons.  Grab this along with your apple cider and your apple juice. Bring these to a boil over medium heat. Once you have it to a rapid boil reduce heat to low (only needs to simmer) and add in all 3 of your cinnamon sticks plus 1/2 a cup of sugar. Let this steep for around 15-20 minutes remove from heat and Cool. Once this is below 100 F then add your ever-clear. (note that Alcohol evaporates at 172 F which means if you add your ever-clear to early before solution has cooled it will evaporate into steam which is very dangerous and flammable and not to mention and waste of your money
Only thing left to do at this point is taste your pie and add sugar to your taste. (we love it with only the 1/2 cup as stated above. However my sister Likes it more a little sweeter. Add as much or as little as you please).
Enjoy this drink warm or chilled. And remember never drink and drive, It's just not worth it.
As always Thanks and don't forget to be stilllivin4now and stay safe.

Got the Munchies We Got the Munchies solutions

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

(picture from usefulgyphs)

Who doesn't like the warm gooey goodness of a chocolate oatmeal cookie on a cold winter evening. I know all five of my children love these treats, and so does pretty much anyone who ever tries them. The best part is they are easy to make, It only takes minutes to prepare.

You will need
  1.  3 cups of granulated sugar
  2.  3 heaping Tablespoons of cocoa
  3.  1 stick of butter
  4.  2/3 cup of milk
  5.  3 cups of old fashion oats
  6.  1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  7.  1/4 tsp salt (pinch)
  8.  1 tsp vanilla extract
  9.  Wax paper
Instructions:
Get a medium to large sauce pan, Combine your 3 cups of sugar, 1 stick of butter, 2/3 cups of milk, pinch of salt, and your 3 heaping spoons of cocoa. heat over medium heat until you have a rolling boil.  Boil rapid on medium heat for one minute, remove from heat, (this next part needs to be done with a little speed to ensure your cookies don't get firm in you sauce pan)
Add the rest of your ingredients, starting with your 3 cups oats, then your 1/2 cup of peanut butter, and finally your teaspoon of vanilla. As soon as these are mixed well, Take heaping spoon fulls and place on wax paper to cool just like in the photo above.  This will usually make around 24-36 cookies depending on spoon size for cookie dropping. We use just a tablespoon and seems to work out great for cookie size..
Thanks again And As Always Enjoy, Make sure To be stilllivin4now and Stay safe.

Marvels at it again

Have You Met Crossbones?

Frank Grillo on ‘Civil War’ set as Crossbones (Photo: AKM-GSI)

Welcome Brock Rumlow and his awesome alter ego Crossbones To the big screen. Played by Frank Grillo on Captain Americas "Civil War".

While his movie backstory differs from the comics (where he’s a former gang member who becomes a henchman for Red Skull),
Cover art for Captain America (vol. 5) 16.jpg
Art by Declan Shalvey.

Crossbones ultimately serves a pivotal role in Marvel’s Civil War storyline. He’s the one responsible for the assassination of Captain America. We’ll have to wait until the film comes out on May 6th to see how closely the cinematic version tracks to the comics.

For my self May 6th won't get here fast enough.
Alright. Just like always. Keep it short and sweet, Don't forget to be stilllivin4now and stay safe.

Is it right or is it wrong?

Is NYC Right or Wrong
(video provided by youtube.com )

Just a few days ago a phone cam caught the great state of New York Cleaning up the curb. However it didn't turn out quite like anyone would have expected.

We all know how bad it is to waste food. And I am sure Most of us know what it is like to be hungry.  So when I saw this video of the NYC sanitation department taking fruit from a store front, Of course I was in a up roar. As I am sure the store owner was to. Claiming that over 8 thousand dollars worth of fruit was taking.  He was pretty upset to say the least. However his fine list for having the fruit to close to the street was long enough for him to no better.

If you are like my self and only caught the video which filled Facebook feeds on Feb 20.  (not sure if that was the day this all went down.)  Then you to seen the state send in a trash truck to load up the fruit in front of small store in NYC.  The Sanitation workers not thinking twice about what they was doing. As if they were on a regular stop on their regular schedule.

This biggest issue I felt was the plain out waste of the fruit.. With all the homeless in America you would think they would not have thrown that fruit away. Instead you would think it would be loaded and sent some where to be used instead of wasted. As I am sure New York has it's fair share of homeless as well.

This is where I believe the problem lies. Had the state came in and just took the food/fruit Loaded it up and dropped it off at a shelter. Shortly after that you know there would be some type of lawsuit. Saying that the state Robbed me of my produce and gave it to the homeless.  Even though I was clearly in the wrong and knew better..
Either way this did not turn out good for anyone involved.  The store owner lost 8+ grand. The state looks like they are evil. And No one gets to eat the Yummy fruit. But on a good note there weren't any firearms pulled and no fights reported.

What do you think? (this goes out to my one reader)
I feel like it would have caused major issues if it had be loaded and given away. But at the same time it is just, well stupid to waste that much produce.
Alright that's my spill, Thanks as always remember to be stilllivin4now, And stay safe

The Newest project

Candle Melter From........

This was a project like no other.. Here for the last few weeks we (my wife and I) have been working, researching a new home based business. This business is candle making, And it seemed like it was easy enough to learn. So we jumped in feet first and started researching everything we could.
                                                                  First steps.

First things was first.  I needed to know what I was supposed to build and why.  I needed to make myself a check list and fast. However I still didn't know what all was needed or the steps required to produce the finished project.   Quickly I sunk myself into the computer and was lost in the net in no time flat.   I stumbled upon many sites dealing with candle making for the lonely warrior or the professional..  I soaked up all I could and came to what I thought was a pretty good idea on what I wanted to build.

As I fumbled threw the countless pages of the internet I found that there wasn't any shortage of information, However there wasn't really a place to buy your melting equipment at a fair price. Since I only found a hand full of places that sale the major melting equipment for candle making.(the more commercial stuff) They really didn't have enough competition to get the prices down. So I opted to build what ever My wife and I needed to get through until our new home based business showed some type of profit.

Going for the build.

Going for the build. Coming into it I still had no clue as to what to build. I mean I seen what candle melters look like. Single cambers all the way to 12 cambers. From $49.95 - $10,995.00
They range from small enough to fit on your counter tops to large enough to require their own room.
First I need to figure out what our production targets was for my first go rounds in the biz...This was a total pain as I have never made candles. Heck I don't even know how long it takes to make a candle or anything. (So Back to you tube to watch more candle carving videos and candle videos in general)..
Now armed to the gills with knowledge. I know what I what kind of candles I will be doing. I know how many and how long it takes me to make them. (Even though I still have never made my first candle)

We have decided to go the hardest route. Artisan candles. Hand carved beauties, along with your regular stuff like votive, pilliar, Containers, tapers, and of course tarts. Can't forget the Tarts..(Wick less candle) made no sense to me but whatever.   Carved candles are going to be the hard part. As everything that I have read says you need to apprentice for a year before even being allowed to even dip the candles in the wax vats. Here we are about to start out fresh.. (Ole yeah)...

Picture Of the types of candles I will be making.
                            Picture from Google Images search

The above photo is what we are going to be making. This isn't done with regular molds like a lot of candles. It is kind like making taper candles in the since that you dip these. However that is where the similarity stops.  The one above is also a solid color. which I feel is beautiful. But they also make these with lots of colors. In fact it can be any color ranges that you like. As seen below in the next pic..  (either way it goes these all have one factor in common. They all have to be dipped to vats of molten wax to build layers in order to carve).

One look at these awesome candles and I knew that I didn't want to make just plain ole boring container candles, This is what I wanted to make.. No no.. This is what I am going to make..  So how do we do it. Of course as I watched the videos I was seeing that a dipping vat was always used. Its the money maker of the candle world.. And I knew I had to have one. This is where I found only a few companies make the wax melter systems.  The best one I found was in India I think. They offer a few different models to choose from, and they also have business packages to go along with the melters.
My only issue with these units.  Is the Price.  One knows that you would have made a cash return of some sort, and of course the equipment will pay for it self.. However what does one do when they don't have the capital to spend on something that cost that much when they are first starting.  Of course used equipment is an option. With used equipment you have to worry about how it was taken care of and how long it will last for you before needing replaced or repaired.

This is the business 10 unit.. It is awesome. And I wish I had 5-10 grand to spend on these up front. This would def. make the whole process faster and just a breeze.  But this is the real world. I have 5 kids and I am a broke man. So I have to get my old dusty brain into overdrive and figure out how to achieve the same thing but with only a fraction of the cost....

This I have done. I just completed what I call the  CM1.1.  Which was a corny way of giving credit to the person that helped me most with the build. The C stands for my middle name Cole.  And the M stands for My good friend and Build helper, Marshall. And the One stands for the first one of its kind. And last the dot one stands for the first edition of its kind with no updates.   However the letters also stand for what it was intended for at first..  Candle Melter 1.1   .....

             Cm1.1 finished product

My build doesn't have that wonderful awesome Stainless Steel look to it. But it does have a look all on its own. Wouldn't you agree?
What we have here is items that any everyday person can get their hands on. All the materials came from http://www.lowes.com/.  I live 2 miles from our Lowes so I did not order anything on line. But you could if you had to. It would just take a little bit longer.
Materials for the job wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Lets see if I can remember of the top of my head what all was used.

  1. Metal 30 gallon trash can With lid
  2. single cabinet with counter top
  3. 1500 watt hot water heater element
  4. Pack of 1inch emt connector ring(comes with two in the pack you only need one. These are the lock rings that secure Metal one inch electrical pipes to work boxes. The thread patterns is a perfect match for the heating element. This is very important in the future)
  5. Temperature controller IE: (replacement thermostat for oven control)
  6. One pound silver solder
  7. Soldering Flux
  8. 6 Foot #6 pre made Plug (For electric connection to wall outlet) In my case it is 110V (plugs right into any outlet in your house that doesn't already have a lot of load of the circuit its on).
  9. Small box of zip screws (1/4 inch by 1/4inch self tapper)
  10. Torch (I used blue can with out o2 because we are only using silver solder, this works just fine, However you can use yellow tank with o2 and silver brazing sticks for a much higher tinsel strength, but this isn't need as I will never have any type of pressure on the system at all)
  11. Small roll of 12/2 electric wire. (if you don't have a few small pieces laying around at home)
  12.  6 cans spray foam
  13. 1 1/8 metal hole saw
  14. Teflon Tape
I think this is pretty close to the items you will need, Although as old as I am I am sure I will be back adding in items as we go. (Thankfully to me. You will never Notice as I will fix it before being published, Unless I blow That to. Which would/will make this all the more ironic)

It's a pretty straight forward build. And now that you have seen it. I am sure you have already about figured how it was assembled and how it works.

As soon as you get home grab the cordless drill, chuck up the metal hole saw and find a spot near the bottom but not all the way at the bottom and drill,  make your hole. Clean it well then find the 1 inch lock ring (That you tested at store to make sure it thread on and off your element We hope) and solder it to the can.
After you solder the ring to the can. You can now start the long process of soldering all the seams on the can, This will ensure you of no leaks.  I soldered all mine from the out side. It seemed like the best idea at the time as the seems were much smaller and tighter than that of the inside.

After soldering to the can..  Find your element and wrap a few good wraps of Teflon around the threads of the heating element.  Once That is done Thread it into the lock nut that you soldered onto you Trash can.

at this point you have a large self heating vessel. However if wired at this point it would heat and never shut off. Even after it is boiling.
This is why you purchased your thermostat. It controls the electric flow so to speak..
Wiring this in should be done by some one whom is licensed. Or if you truly trust your work then be my guest. I did my own but. I also worked in the field a long time as well. I really urge the fact of hiring some one for this part if you are unsure.  Just for the fact that you are using high volts with high amps. And water/oil plus metal. I don't have to have a PHD for me to figure out that this is a Bad plan gone worse if done incorrectly.
On the same note when installed correctly this is an awesome little setup to get started with.
(Those other units on google search are all crafted of metal as well and require the same care as with you home unit.. Just something to keep in mind)

I used a small half box and zip screwed it above water level at first before I knew that I wanted to install it into the cabinet.  (using it this way was ok to I was going to keep it like this and just wrap it with insulation then tightly wrap with plastic wrap)

For my dipping vats I used pre made stuff from lowes for heating and air. they are 8inch flumes, I bought them and matching end caps. (these are great but as you can see the awful seem on the inside. Once you use these for a color. it will be used for that color for ever more as there is no way to clean all the way with these seams the way they are. Which is just a minor set back. And meant that I had to make a vat for every color. but its not bad now as we can switch them out fast and simple now.

No way to fill that... I mean there is but It isn't worth putting what it would cost into it.. Although I am sure there is other people whom see it way better or different. If so I would love the feed back or ideas..  I am all about making it better for cheaper..  You know what they say. If it's Free it's for me.

close up before cleaning and getting a false bottom and added to the cabinet

This is what it looked like right before I added it to the cabinet. This showing the unit with out a false bottom on the inside, You can tell by how low the vat was sitting inside..
You have to add a false bottom which I don't have a picture of but I made mine out of a second metal lid. I bought a second lid and used a pair of metal snips and cut it smaller then normal as to fit inside. it ended up being a 15 inch diameter to fit perfectly. used a few copper pipe pieces that I had here at the house for the legs and boom False bottom. Which i only need because I allow my vats to sit instead of hang. Other wise my vats would touch the heating element, and well that can't be good.

the last thing on the list is almost the most simple. Find the counter top that came with the cabinet you purchased. Put it on the cabinet and see how it sets. Make marks to ensure it goes back into the same spot everytime.
remove it find center. mark center. Grab your can set it in the top of the cabinet, You can do so now because it has not top.. See where the can sits in center.  Try and get the best measurements you can from any points that you can. (to help transfer to counter top).

However your methods. This can be easy and it can be a real pain. For myself. I found my center and flipped the can up side down tracing the largest part of the can. Then as I cut I held in off my line about a 1/4 inch. As to make my hole 1/4inch smaller than it should have been.  This turned out to be perfect.. It rested nice and tight and fit great.

Once I fed it thru the hole and had it seated the way I wanted It was all be over. With the electric installed and the can installed. I ended up moving my control to fit into the cabinet as seen in the photo.

I also On the inside. Used spray foam. (wish I had a photo of this.) to insulate and help retain heat. This was achieved very easily.  All I had to do was section off sections with cardboard. Spray in the foam from the top watch it expand.. Let it dry a little bit, And remove cardboard.  Repeat the process on all sides.

If done correctly you should end up with something close to this.  A working unit that does what it is supposed to do.
Mine takes about 1 1/2 hours to heat up to 200F.  Not to bad considering its holding 15 gallons of water about 120 pounds of wax.
