Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

(picture from usefulgyphs)

Who doesn't like the warm gooey goodness of a chocolate oatmeal cookie on a cold winter evening. I know all five of my children love these treats, and so does pretty much anyone who ever tries them. The best part is they are easy to make, It only takes minutes to prepare.

You will need
  1.  3 cups of granulated sugar
  2.  3 heaping Tablespoons of cocoa
  3.  1 stick of butter
  4.  2/3 cup of milk
  5.  3 cups of old fashion oats
  6.  1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  7.  1/4 tsp salt (pinch)
  8.  1 tsp vanilla extract
  9.  Wax paper
Instructions:
Get a medium to large sauce pan, Combine your 3 cups of sugar, 1 stick of butter, 2/3 cups of milk, pinch of salt, and your 3 heaping spoons of cocoa. heat over medium heat until you have a rolling boil.  Boil rapid on medium heat for one minute, remove from heat, (this next part needs to be done with a little speed to ensure your cookies don't get firm in you sauce pan)
Add the rest of your ingredients, starting with your 3 cups oats, then your 1/2 cup of peanut butter, and finally your teaspoon of vanilla. As soon as these are mixed well, Take heaping spoon fulls and place on wax paper to cool just like in the photo above.  This will usually make around 24-36 cookies depending on spoon size for cookie dropping. We use just a tablespoon and seems to work out great for cookie size..
Thanks again And As Always Enjoy, Make sure To be stilllivin4now and Stay safe.
